Travel creepy Lawang Sewu in Semarang







Building Lawang Sewu or in the Indonesian language is a thousand doors is a historic building in Indonesia located right in the city of Semarang, Central Java Province. This building, formerly an office of Nederlands-Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij or can be abbreviated as NIS. Built-in 1904 and completed in 1907. The building is located near the Tugu Muda roundabout which was formerly called Wilhelminaplein. Local Semarang people call it or recognize it by Lawang Sewu because this building has very very many doors, although, in fact, the number of doors is not reaching a thousand. This building has so many windows that are high and wide, so people often regard Semarang as a door or a mace.





This ancient and majestic building which has a second floor after independence is used as the office of Djawatan Kereta Api Repoeblik Indonesia or can be in short DKARI or now that can be called PT Kereta Api Indonesia. In addition, this wake was used as the Office of Infrastructure Regional Military Command or can be abbreviated Kodam IV / Diponegoro and Regional Office or Regional Office of the Ministry of Transportation of Central Java Province. In times of struggle, this building has its own historical record is when the Battle events in five days in Semarang from October 14 to October 19, 1945. This old building was once the site of a very intense battle or war between youths AMKA or can be called Youth Force Railway against Kempetai and Kidobutai from Japan. Therefore, the Government of Semarang City with the Decree of the Mayor Number. 650/50/1992, which includes Lawang Sewu as one of 102 buildings of ancient or historic buildings in Semarang city of Central Java which deserves and must be protected.





At this time old and ancient buildings have been undergoing stages of conservation and revitalization that has been done by the Unit Preservation of objects and historic buildings at PT Kereta Api (Persero). Lawang Sewu building was built on February 27, 1904, with another name is Het hoofdkantor van de Nederlands-Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij namely as NIS Head Office. Initially, the activities at the office administration department were done at Semarang Gudang Station called Samarang NIS, but with the rapid development of the railway network, increasing the number of technical personnel and personnel in the administrative department.

Balado is a typical cooking technique from Minangkabau that is by sauté chili milled with various spices, usually can onion, then garlic, and also lime.
