In the city of Bukittinggi has so many presents places for refreshing or that you can visit to relieve stress during work or can as an alternative place to channel the souls of your traveler. Tours that you visit in Bukittinggi certainly should not miss a tour or a visit to Jam Gadang.

Jam Gadang is one of the clock towers that is right in the center of Bukittinggi City west Sumatra. The clock tower is one of the pride of the people of Bukittinggi and it has a very large clock, that is the reason it is called Jam Gadang which the word Gadang is taken from the Minangkabau language which means big. Hours of 13 × 4 meters with a towering height of 26 meters and this gadang clock has several levels that are with the top level as a storage pendulum clock that had been broken when an earthquake in 2007, so it must replace with a new pendulum.

In this Clock Tower, there are four clocks that have a relatively large size with a diameter of 80 cm circle. Jam Gadang itself directly imported from the city of Rotterdam from the Netherlands. At that time, the voyage was done through the Port of Teluk Bayur ship west Sumatra province. Uniquely, the movement is done mechanically by a machine that only made two units or units in the world, namely the Clock Tower on the high hill and the clock tower Big Ben in London, England. Vortmann Recklinghausen is the name of the factory or industry that made this clock machine from Germany, circa 1892. And even, the name of the maker is also written on the Clock Tower body right at the bell.

Another uniqueness that is owned by the symbol of the City of Bukittinggi is a buffer that is not using building materials in the form of iron and cement, but a mixture of non-building materials such as lime, egg white, and white sand. Based on its history, Jam Gadang is a gift from the Queen of the Netherlands to Rook Maker, who is a Controleur Secretary in the City of Bukittinggi during the Dutch Government. If you look carefully and thoroughly, there are strange and awkward things that will be encountered in writing the pointer numbers.

When in general the number "4" and in writing romawinya is "IV", on the clock that has been built by the architect named Yazid Sutan Gigi Ameh is written the Roman numerals "III" as a tool marker puku or four hours. The roof on the Clock Gadang shaped gonjong which is the roof of Minangkabau traditional house. Around the Clock Tower, there are also parks equipped with many benches. The atmosphere at night here will be very very romantic because at night Clock Tower is decorated with glitter flickering colorful lights that make the atmosphere more beautiful night.

The action of adding chili and spices is believed to make food more durable. The common and commonly used chili is red curly pink, although, in reality, this Balado dish with green chili is also no less popular. Actually, the use of the word Balado itself is used after the noun, ie, For example, Balado Fish can Fish + Chilli, Balado Gulai, then Saur Bayam Balado, and Dendeng Balado.
