Boran Dance is one of the traditional dances originating from Lamongan, East Java. The dance represents the life of boran rice sellers selling their wares and interacting with buyers. Boran dance is rich in the value of art and culture, but also there are many philosophical values in it. History of Boran Dance
Boran Dance is inspired by the sellers of rice boran, which is a traditional food typical of Lamongan, East Java Province. In ancient times the sellers of this boran rice in hawking their wares by using Wakul or a container of rice made of bamboo placed on top of their heads to carry it. In peddling their rice boran they walk and offer their wares to everyone they meet. Under the heat of the sun and also the rigors of life they struggle in search of fortune. From their struggle that inspired the artists in Lamongan to create a dance called Tari Boran this.
